Caroline Morey, echtgenote van Pierre-Yves Colin, maakt wijnen in dezelfde stijl als haar man: puur, mineraal & boordevol fraîcheur. Witte Bourgognes van topniveau. Pierre-Yves laat trouwens géén enkele fles gaan die niet aan zijn 'meticuleuze' eisen voldoet.
Ook in 2017 hebben we een allocatie van maar slechts énkele kartons per Cru. (De grotere wijnen van 2017 volgen in het najaar). Indien interesse, graag ASAP reageren. De wijnen zijn op voorraad.

Santenay Cornières Blanc 2017 32.00€
Santenay is a village perhaps better known for reds than for whites (á la Chassagne a generation ago). Pierre-Yves and Caroline have latched onto the potential and set a ferociously high standard. “Cornières reminds me of Chassagne Morgeots, in a very attractive, earlier drinking style – these are perfect wines for people who cannot wait!” Ripe and concentrated but surprisingly pliant, with juicy acidity giving the wine lift and pizazz. Drink 2020-2027.
Beaune 1er Cru Grèves Blanc 2017 45.00€
Well, this is a first … “Beaune Grèves white?” Apparently Prieur and Jadot produce one,and Thomas Morey – a cousin of Caroline – too. On this first showing, I can understand why. The palate beautifully combines a supple, tactile mouth feel with bright acidity. It’s deceptively drinkable now – it’s absolutely delicious! – but I’m sure with its pedigree that it will age brilliantly too. What fun to try a known terroir in a different colour!

Santenay Chainey Rouge 2017 28.00€
Wound and energetic, perhaps helped by the 25% whole clusters, the 2017 Santenay shows great style and aromatic lift. The interplay of fruit and freshness is just compelling. There is so much to like here, understated and pretty, to drink from 2021. Incidentally the 2014 (from bottles) and 2016 are showing beautifully now.
Chassagne Montrachet Rouge 2017 32.00€
I love Chassagne-Montrachet rouge. With today’s Côte de Nuits prices, this is arguably the drinking ‘future’ … wines you can drink with abandon, without an eye on their secondary value. The juicy village wine sees 30% whole cluster fruit, resulting in a suave and elegantly styled Pinot framed by harmonious acidity. Those smooth tannins are just perfect, a seamless red Chassagne in a feminine style
Beaune 1er Cru Grèves Rouge 2017 55.00€
The Grèves has such a beautifully perfumed bouquet – Morello and raspberries – it’s a winner without even taking a sip! The palate that follows is detailed and precise (a signature of Caroline’s reds), with very fine tannin and more of that lovely mineral drenched red berry fruit.
