R. Parker: 92/100 The red 2022 Coma d'en Pou was produced with the grapes from a vineyard planted with different types of Garnacha on limestone soils. It's perfumed and floral with a spicy twist and mealy hints of cereal, notes of pollen and red berries. It fermented in open-top barrels and stainless steel with a small portion of full clusters and matured in 500- and 600-liter oak barrels and some glass demijohns for 13 months. It has ripeness and some creaminess and is round and lush, with 14.5% alcohol, reflecting the year, some dusty tannins and a touch of rusticity. 4,511 bottles and 180 magnums produced. It was bottled in February 2024. Bàrbara Forés, one of the pioneers in Terra Alta, has all the vineyards and wines certified organic.
