Muy bien of....trés bon !

La Bastid" Rioja Blanco DOC 2018    € 19.99 (vanaf October € 22.00)
Viura, Malvasia, Garnacha Blanca.
Robert Parker.com: 92-93/100. The white 2018 La Bastid is from a year when he started producing more white wine in general, so more than half of the volume fermented and matured in concrete, while the rest matured in 600-liter barrels and 2,000-liter oak vats; the 2017 and previous vintages were all vinified and matured in oak. He liked the result, so there will be more white in concrete in the future. He also found a new Garnacha Blanca vineyard, so the blend in 2018 has more Garnacha Blanca, perhaps 15%. It's sharp and fresh, which Rivière thinks comes from the concrete, and there's some carbonic gas that lifts it up. What I tasted was the final blend that should be bottled soon, so the bottled wine should be pretty similar to what I tasted. It is very tasty, with pungent flavors, intense and very fresh.

"Rayos Uva" Rioja DOC 2018    € 11.00
Tempranillo, Graciano & Garnacha

Knappe wijn.

Robert Parker.com: 94/100. The 2016 Las Viñas de Eusebio is a blend of Tempranillo with 10% Graciano that has great finesse and complexity. It matured in a 1,600-liter oak foudre and 225- and 500-liter oak barrels to make enough wine to fill some 7,000 bottles. It has a quite classical profile, with a mixture of fruit and spice (some new oak was used in the élevage), and in a cool year like 2016, it should have all the ingredients to develop nicely in bottle. It has chalky tannins from the limestone soils, which adds to that serious and classical profile. It might even need a little more time in bottle to polish the tannins a little bit. This fermented mostly destemmed.

Antonio Galloni's Vinous.com: 94/100. Lurid ruby. Highly perfumed on the nose, displaying intense red and blue fruit and floral scents that are complemented by exotic spice and smoky mineral nuances. Stains the palate with concentrated raspberry, bitter cherry and spicecake flavors that become sweeter and livelier with air. Rich but distinctly elegant, showing excellent clarity and finishing sweet, spicy and very long, with fine-grained tannins and an echo of candied flowers.
