R. Parker: 92+/100 The golden colored 2022 Las Llanas has a stronger influence from the skin contact. It comes from an old and small vineyard planted mostly with Viura and Rojal (Malvasía Riojana) and some Calagraño and Garnacha Blanca. It fermented in a 1,000-liter oak vat and had two weeks of post-fermentative maceration with the skins. It matured in a 225- and a 400-liter oak barrel for one year and then was transferred to a Clayver ceramic jar to avoid excess oak in the wine. This year, it achieved 13.3% alcohol, with a pH of 3.4 and five grams of acidity (tartaric), and the fine tannins together with the chalky texture from the soils give it a powdery feeling that calls for food. Some 900 bottles were filled in April 2024.
